Dear Everyone!
We were able to see so many miracles this week! Literally, during one of our English classes, a woman walked in, and asked if she could come to church! She also asked us if we could teach her and tell her more about baptism! What a miracle!  We were also able to meet in a the house of a wonderful woman from the Philippine and share the message about Joseph Smith with her. We asked her what she thought about everything we have taught her so far, and she said that she believed it all to be true!

I am so grateful for the Lord, and I give Him all the glory! I am so honored to simply be a participant in His work during this last dispensation.

Love you all from Hikari. I am so grateful for the depth of sincerity in your prayers, I feel them so much.

I am honored to be a member and missionary here in Japan

Much love,
Freed Shimai

Hello dearest readers.
Thank you for your patience as always. A lot has gone by during these past two weeks. But for now I'll just talk about the Whiting Conference we had! He is a member of the quorum of the 70's  and it was incredible to listen to him. Him and his wife, President Egan, and Sister Egan all spoke at the conference and just like when Elder Bednar spoke, the Spirit was so strong. All the questions I had written down previously, and had been pondering over the days before....they were all answered! I strongly encourage you to write down some questions before this upcoming conference and get answers from the apostles!

Here's a picture

This is a picture of the Hiroshima Zone, Yamaguchi Zone, and Fukuoka Zone! ) can you spy, a Freed Shimai?

During this meeting, I wanted to know how I could help my companion know I loved them. And I found that to be through service, of course....but also, by helping create an environment that is worthy of the Spirit. If I am doing all I can, to help them feel His comfort and guidance in more abundance, that can help me help my companion feel the love I have for them.

Simply put, I love the Holy Ghost so much! It is such a gift.

Side note:
I wanted to say how grateful I am for church and for the youth programs of the church too! Until now, I never truly realized how important they are for young adults! The world is becoming more and more confusing and wicked, society is becoming more hectic, and chaotic and there are so many things trying to grab our attention...but with YM's and YW's, the youth are able to have fun and receive guidance through the program! They get fun that they can remember, and grow in an environment that isn't temporal and is safe! The most pivotal moments are when we are most susceptible.

I love the Lord and the youth programs of the church! I remember when I went to young women's as a girl and how fun it was to see my leaders and friends!

Love you all, I feel your prayers! You are in mine!

February 19th

February 19, 2017

Hello everyone!
This past Sunday Jemima was baptized and confirmed as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-day Saints!

She bore a beautiful testimony and is a beautiful and strong daughter of God. We got to teach her after baptism and confirmation lessons as well! Her brother got baptized last week and her parents have begun to be taught by the elders.

Thank you so much for your prayers, funds, and fasting on behalf of the missionaries. Because of your faith miracles like Jemima are seen.

I love this church so much, and I am blessed to be a participant in the Lord's work. I know this church is true! I testify it is true! As it tells in 2 Nephi 25:26, I rejoice in Christ! And I do not glory in myself, but in my God, just like Moroni states in Moroni 29:9!

Much love and thank you for your patience!

As always, I'm honored to be a member and a missionary here in Japan!

Love Freed Shimai

Happy Valentine's Day and a Happy late B-Day to my bro Danny!

I spoke at a baptism we had yesterday. It went pretty poorly, for some elders in the district. Unfortunately, I was also really nervous....

Well for more news. We just had transfers and now have two new elders.

The elder on the left is from 🇩🇪 Germany, his name is Elder Ricardi??? He's half Bolivian and on the right is Elder Shimokawa. He is Half Japanese and from Michigan. Elder Ricardo speaks in German, fluent English, Spanish and is now learning Japanese. He is being trained by Elder Metekingi and Elder Shimokawa is pretty much fluent in a Japanese and he is being trained by Elder Perry.

I'm honored to be a member and a missionary here in Japan

Much love to you,
Freed Shimai
